Port & Coastal Marine Services

Port & Coastal Marine Services was formed in May 2013 in response to a growing demand for an increase in the scope of works from the AusBarge group of companies. The purpose of the company is to support and complement the AusBarge group of companies, by expanding services into managed solutions and larger tonnages. At present, these services include the management and maintenance of marine assets and the provision of coastal towage.

The same ethos which has allowed the AusBarge group of companies to grow underpins the new business. Professional, consultative and collaborative service with modest margins.

The AusBarge group of companies

The AusBarge group of companies is proudly Australian owned and run. It has steadily grown since its inception in 2005, when the first company, AusBarge Marine Services, was formed by Greg Hall and Mark Roche.The range of services and group of companies have expanded and diversified. They now include vessel management services, coastal towage, project tug and barge services, heavy lift, construction, lines services, modular barges and a variety of small vessel services.

The number of significant pieces of floating plant and equipment owned or managed by the group now numbers more than 30. The vessels range from 4m to 36m and the barges from 6m to 90m. The group also owns its own cranes, including floating cranes, trucks, maintenance equipment and has workshops, moorings, berths and yards.

The group has constructed their own small vessels and generally aim to develop skill sets in-house. The group, whilst based in Sydney, has operations, or has had recent operations, from Darwin right throughout every major port on the eastern seaboard spanning into the Spencer Gulf as well as in the West.

We have a strategic alliance with the Stannard Marine Group who have towage interests in the Northern Territory and South Australia.

Port & Coastal and the environment

We are committed to sustainable and environmentally sound business. Our policies include the selection of re-cycled and environmentally friendly products where available. We choose energy efficient spares and equipment. We have a fuel conservation ethos throughout our marine and land based operations which not only reduces green house emissions but also reduces our cost base.
